Haminja started from a simple feeling: in a new city, in a language that is not fully yours yet, sometimes you just want one person who understands you without explanation.
Our story
[[FOUNDER_STORY]] — We are a few Iranians who moved to Europe and North America years ago. All of us remember the loneliness of the first year: plenty of people around, but nobody who understood everything from a single "chetori?". The tools that existed either did not fit us or treated our data in ways that are not acceptable for an Iranian living abroad.
We built Haminja to make meeting people calm and human again: people close to you, a companion that remembers you, and a reason to get together. And we built it so we could say out loud where your data is and what happens to it.

Where we are
The company is registered in [[ENTITY_COUNTRY]] and the team is spread across a few European cities. Servers, database and all backups live in German data centres; no user data is stored outside the EU. The only exception is momentary text processing by our AI provider, explained on the privacy page.

Our companion always says it is an AI and never pretends to be a person. Its job is to bring you to real people, not to replace them.

Instead of "we care about your privacy", we publish the exact table of every piece of data and announce every change here.

No streaks, no coins, no endless cards. A few good introductions a week and one game night is enough.
